In connection with the active military aggression of Russia against Ukraine, the need to expand and modernize the airfield network of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine becomes obvious. This is an important step to ensure the effective defense of the country and the ability to respond to potential threats. In the conditions of ever-increasing tension and potential threat from Russia, the development and modernization of the airfield infrastructure will increase the mobility and speed of the Air Force’s response to any threats, as well as provide the possibility of effective use of aviation assets in response to Russia’s aggressive actions. Expanding the capabilities of the airfield network will allow Ukraine to more effectively use foreign aviation equipment, which will increase the overall level of defense capability and provide more effective protection of the state. Therefore, the main goal of the article is to reveal the main aspects of the construction of the methodology for determining the capabilities of engineering and airfield units, taking into account the peculiarities of the operation of aviation equipment of partner countries, as well as the development of practical recommendations for its application in military administration bodies. The methodology for determining the rational composition and capabilities of engineering and airport units in accordance with the requirements for the arrangement and operational maintenance of airfields for various types of aviation equipment of the partner countries is presented in the article and is a key element of optimizing and increasing the efficiency of the operation of the airfield infrastructure

Keywords: airport infrastructure; aviation equipment; engineering and aerodrome units; partner countries; capabilities of airfield engineering units, Air Force; Armed Forces of Ukraine.
