Plagiarism Prevention and Response
In accordance with the Regulation on Academic Integrity at the Military Academy (Odesa) dated 25 January 2018, No. 6, all scholarly articles received by the editorial board are subject to mandatory plagiarism screening.
Screening System
Screening is performed using the similarity detection system — the online service StrikePlagiarism.com.
Originality Scale
Above 85% — high level of originality. Required for academic and academic-pedagogical staff, Candidates of Sciences, Doctors of Philosophy, and Doctors of Sciences.
75% to 84% — satisfactory level of originality. Acceptable for degree-seeking students (doctoral candidates/adjuncts, etc.).
55% to 74% — low level of originality. The material may be accepted for consideration after revision and re-screening.
Below 54% — unacceptable level of originality. The material is not accepted for consideration.
Self-Plagiarism
Publishing (in part or in full) one's own previously published research results as new research results is prohibited and is classified as self-plagiarism. The self-citation rate in the reference list must not exceed 15% (for author self-citation) and 30% (overall self-citation level).
Prohibition on Using Sources from the Aggressor State
In accordance with the letter of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine dated 25 October 2024, No. 1/19894-24, and the Recommendations of the Ethics Committee of NAQA dated 30 November 2023 (Minutes No. 36 (46)), the following is strictly prohibited: citing sources published in Russian in any country after 24 February 2014; using sources in any language published on the territory of the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus after 24 February 2014; referencing publications by authors with a scholarly affiliation to institutions in the Russian Federation or the Republic of Belarus.
Exception: the use of historical sources published before 24 February 2014 is permitted if it is critically necessary for the research and properly justified.
