Abstract
The analysis of the existing requirements for the arrangement of airfields for various types of aviation
equipment of Western production includes the study and evaluation of standards and recommendations that
regulate the process of construction and operation of airfields for various classes of airplanes and
helicopters. This analysis is aimed at ensuring optimal conditions for landing, take-off and maintenance of
aircraft equipment. Taking into account the relevance of such research, the authors of the article analyzed
the following information: regarding the classification of runways by type of aircraft; and engineering
standards for the design of airports of airports in the United States of America, generalized requirements for
runways in accordance with documents on military airfields of NATO fighter aviation; requirements for the
minimum width of runways.
The results of the analysis of the requirements for equipping airfields with various types of Western-
made aircraft in the context of the transfer of aircraft to NATO member states during a military conflict,
presented in the article, determine the importance of flexibility, standardization and efficiency of service
processes to ensure the safety and success of military operations.
Keywords: aviation equipment, requirements for the arrangement of airfields, samples of aviation
equipment of Western production, runway, engineering standards of airport design.
